Town of Trappe
      Administrative Reviews

In addition to hearing requests for special exceptions and variances, the Appeals Board conducts Administrative Reviews to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Zoning Administrator or Planning Commission in the enforcement or administration of this [Trappe] Zoning ordinance.

The appeals board also hears appeals regarding Interpretation of District Boundaries on the Official [Trappe] zoning map to determine the boundaries of zoning districts.

Any person allegedly aggrieved by any decision of the Board of Appeals, or by a reclassification by the Trappe Town Council, may appeal the same to the Circuit Court of Talbot County. Upon its determination of case, the Circuit Court shall file a formal order embodying its final decision. An appeal may be taken to the Court of Appeals of Maryland, during the period and in the manner prescribed by the rules of the Court of Appeals, from any decision of the Circuit Court.

Before filing an appeal, the applicant should become familiar with the relevant sections of the Trappe Zoning Ordinance. Copies of the zoning ordinance are available at the Trappe Town Office.
